Members of the St Michael’s school community are encouraged to live out the true mission of Jesus by recognising and acknowledging the sacredness and uniqueness of each individual.
The school motto recognises that each of us has been given gifts and we are called to share these gifts with others. By sharing our gifts we shine our light before all.
Religious Education is an integral part of the curriculum at St Michael’s. All children are expected to participate in the Religious Education Program and liturgical activities whilst attending St Michael’s School.
St Michael’s provides a comprehensive education comprising all Key Learning Areas (KLAs) as mandated by the NSW Educational Standards Authority.
The following curriculum areas are taught at St Michael’s:

- Mathematics
- Science and Technology
- Human Society and its Environment
- Personal Development
- Health and Physical Education
- Creative & Practical Arts
Every student at St Michael’s has the opportunity to be involved in sport and participate in Diocesan, Inter-diocesan and State Carnivals. Staff at St Michael’s are committed and dedicated to ensuring that the needs of every student are catered for.
Reporting
At the beginning of each term, an overview of curriculum for each class is sent to parents.
At the end of term one, teacher interviews are offered as an opportunity for parents to meet and discuss the learning of their child.
The end of the second and fourth terms an individual report is sent home with an invitation to parents to make an appointment for an interview to discuss the student’s progress and formulate goals for future progress.
The teachers are available to parents whenever the need arises unless of course, they are in class. The principal has an open door policy for parents, as well as staff and students, and only ask that parents make an appointment at particularly busy times.
Parental Involvement
St Michael’s School works in partnership with the parents to provide each student with the opportunities to reach his/her full potential. As a result, parents are welcome in our school at all times. Many parents come into the school on a volunteer basis to help with reading programs, group work with students, canteen, athletic and swimming carnivals, special occasions during Catholic Schools week, senior citizens assembly and morning tea.
We promote a family-friendly environment and build strong community partnerships by welcoming and actively encouraging a wide variety of participation in the life of the school.  The positive involvement of parents in all aspects of their child’s learning is welcomed and encouraged. In recognising that the family is the most significant influence upon an individual, learning is seen as an ongoing partnership between home and school.
